Hey everyone, it’s Gage! π One of my favorite parts of running Gauge 3D is scrolling through MakerWorld β Bambu Lab’s giant library of free and paid 3D models β looking for the next cool thing to print. New designs pop up every single day, and some of them get SO popular that thousands of people download them in just a week.
I wanted to share what’s trending on MakerWorld right now, plus a few designs I’ve already added to my print queue. If you want any of these made for you, just request a custom order and I’ll get it printed and shipped!
1. Print-in-Place Articulated Animals π
These never go out of style. Dragons, snakes, and now even octopuses and scorpions are climbing the MakerWorld charts. They print fully assembled β no glue, no supports needed on the joints β and they move right off the bed. I’ve been printing a ton of these lately, especially my articulated dragons, which are still one of our best sellers.
2. Modular Storage & Organizer Systems π¦
Grid-based storage systems (stackable bins, tool organizers, desk trays) are huge right now. People love that you can print exactly the size and number of compartments you need. These fall right into our functional prints lineup β practical stuff that actually solves a problem in your house, garage, or office.
3. Gyroscopic & Kinetic Desk Toys π
Fidget culture is still going strong on MakerWorld. Gyroscopic spinners, marble mazes, and multi-part fidget puzzles are getting tons of downloads. If you liked my top 5 fidget toys, these newer kinetic designs take it even further with moving parts that click, spin, and slide.
4. Cosplay Props & Tabletop Terrain βοΈ
Big convention season = big demand for props. Sword hilts, shields, helmets, and modular dungeon tiles for tabletop games are trending hard on MakerWorld right now. I print a lot of these with tougher filaments so they hold up to actual use β check out my cosplay props and tabletop miniature pages if that’s your thing.
5. Seasonal Decor (Already Thinking Ahead to Fall!) π
Even though it’s still summer, pumpkin lanterns, layered leaf wall art, and little harvest-themed figurines are already climbing the MakerWorld trending page. Designers post seasonal stuff early so makers can print ahead of the rush β smart move, and I’m doing the same thing in my own queue.
How I Pick What to Print
Not everything trending on MakerWorld is worth printing. I look for models with print-in-place mechanisms, clean supports, good reviews from other makers, and designs that actually hold up once you pick the right filament. Speaking of filament β if you’re not sure what to use for a project, check out my PLA vs PETG vs TPU guide to match the material to the job.
